Experience & Professional Development:Fifteen years of oil painting. I have been drawing since a very young age. If I wasn't skiing in the French Alps, where I grew up, I was drawing clothes for my imaginery friends. I discovered Oil painting in Art School, which would become my main focus. In 1998 I started painting detailed oil based portraits of mixed race people, which was influenced by my family roots, my mother being French Algerian. I'm still nowadays passionate about the incredible challenge of recreating reality either using oild painting, watercolor or through graphic illustrations. I have been a graphic illustrator for the last 5 years. I've worked for Old Navy, Upper Playground, Alkemie Collaborative, Hixsept, Divide and Conquer clothing. My husband and I own a Handbag line Kleome since 2006. I'm in charge of creating designs and production. I'm also working as a preschool teacher at le jardin enchanté a french immersion school in San Francisco, and give private art classes to children in my studio. My goal is to enrich children and the community by nurturing love of the arts through education, exploration and expression. |
